Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in the EdTech Experts event, co-hosted by
World Arena Events and Dover International School. This gathering brought together a great set of speakers in the field of education technology, fostering rich discussions on how to harness technology effectively in educational settings.

During the event, I presented my talk titled “Less is More,” where I shared my three essential steps for gaining control of technology in any organisation.

1. Clarity of Vision: Establishing a clear vision for technology is crucial for integrating technology successfully. Organisations must define their goals and how technology can support their educational missions, ensuring that every decision aligns with this vision.

2. Minimise Distractions: In our tech-driven world, distractions are everywhere. By simplifying tools and processes, organisations can help educators and students focus on what truly matters—learning and personal growth.

3. Maximise Impact: Finally, it’s vital to leverage technology to enhance educational outcomes. I argued that we need to treat technology as another staff member and as such more needs to be done to truly integrate within teams. This means selecting the right tools that not only engage but also empower learners, making every technological investment count.

I hope everyone enjoyed the sessions. For our school the above steps reduced our subscriptions by a third and saving over £20,000 a year and continue to do so.
