I recently attended the Education Expert Conference in Doha, Qatar, a two-day event featuring a diverse group of experts from various fields of education. My presentation, titled “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly of AI,” aimed to provide a balanced perspective on artificial intelligence, addressing not only its benefits and drawbacks but also the often-overlooked “ugly” aspects, such as environmental and data implications. It’s crucial that we move beyond the typical narratives and engage in meaningful discussions about these issues. I believe we still have a chance for agency in this matter, and we must act now before it’s too late.
